Why you’re being charged
GoodCar offers a low-cost trial to run a report. According to customer reviews and BBB complaints, if you don’t cancel within the trial window (reported as around 7 days), the account automatically enrolls in a recurring monthly subscription, billed in advance.
How to cancel your GoodCar subscription
To stop further charges:
- Log into your GoodCar account and look for Subscription or Billing settings to cancel there.
- Use the contact form on goodcar.com to request cancellation in writing, and keep a copy.
- GoodCar also lists a customer support phone line on its site — verify the current number on their contact page before calling.
- Cancel as early as possible: charges are billed monthly in advance and the unused portion is typically not refunded.
- Save the cancellation confirmation email and check your account shows no active subscription.
How to request a refund or dispute the charge
GoodCar reviews charges case by case and has issued one-time courtesy refunds, so contact support promptly and ask directly. If you can’t reach them or the charges continue, dispute the transaction with your bank or card issuer and ask about a chargeback — and consider blocking the merchant or replacing your card number.
Avoid recurring VIN-report charges next time
Use a report with a single, clearly-stated price. A single Vektracer report is a one-time $19.99 — no subscription required and no hidden auto-renewal. (We offer an optional monthly plan for high-volume users, but it’s priced up front and cancellable anytime.) Learn more about the broader pattern in our subscription traps guide.
