Can I compare VINs for free?
The sample comparison on this page is free to read. Comparing your own vehicles needs a report for each VIN, which is a Pro feature: open the reports, then compare up to three at once.
What does the comparison score measure?
A 0–100 score weighted towards history: damage, odometer, theft, title and usage carry 45 points, miles per year 20, market value 20, age 10 and open recalls 5. A detected odometer rollback forfeits the mileage and value points entirely, because neither number can be trusted after one.
Does comparing VINs tell me which car is cheaper to buy?
It shows each vehicle's market value range by condition, which you set against the asking prices yourself. The score rewards value relative to the others, not the lowest sticker.
Can I compare a Canadian vehicle with an American one?
Yes. Mileage is shown in both miles and kilometres, and Canadian reports carry provincial ownership and service records alongside any earlier U.S. history.
How many vehicles can I compare at once?
Three. More than that stops being a comparison and starts being a spreadsheet; three is what a buyer is usually choosing between.
