Ukraine imported around 41,700 used cars from the United States in 2024, nearly one in five of every used car registered for the first time, and the US was the number-one source of used electric vehicles. The Institute for Car Market Research counted more than 274,000 used-car imports into Ukraine in 2025, about a quarter more than in 2024. In 2024 the US supplied roughly 41,700 of them, 19% of first-registered used cars, and 17,235 used electric vehicles, more than any other country. Tesla Model Y and Model 3 led the 2025 ranking of imported used models. Ukrautoprom reported softening US demand in early 2026, but the base remains large.
Ukrainian buyers use the free archives more than anyone: bidfax.info draws around two million visits a month, roughly 46% from Ukraine, and autoastat is 63% Ukrainian. They are good at one thing: the bid history and, often, the photos of a specific Copart or IAAI sale. They do not show the state title brand issued after the sale, the odometer readings recorded at US registrations and inspections, whether the car was registered as a rental or fleet vehicle, later accident reports, or open recalls. A car that was bought at auction, repaired in the US, re-titled as rebuilt and then exported shows all of that only in a full history report.
AUTO.RIA lists thousands of "пригнані з США" cars. The seller's description is usually honest about the import and vague about the damage. The VIN is on the windscreen and on the listing. Running it before the test drive settles the conversation.
